Principal


Reverend Dr Sang Taek Lee is the principal of Iona Trinity College. Sang Taek was ordained by the Korean Methodist Church in 1973, as a graduate of the Methodist Theological University and Yonsei University Graduate School in South Korea and emigrated to Australia in 1980, becoming a minister of the Uniting Church in Australia.

Sang Taek continued his studies at the University of Sydney and received MA and PhD degrees by 1992. He also received a Doctor of Ministry from San Francisco Theological Seminary (1988) and researched the life and thoughts of John Wesley at the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of Oxford (1983).
He was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) from the Australian Government for service to the community (1995) while serving in the Korean Community in Australia as the minister of the Korean Strathfield Uniting Church. Sang Taek had served the Korean church (1980-1999) and English speaking congregations (2000-2016).

Sang Taek is a former adjunct lecturer of United Theological College, School of Theology, Charles Sturt University and was also an adjunct Professor of Hannam University in Korea as the Australian director of the Hannam and Charles Sturt University Program, Sydney, for the Doctor of Theology in Ministry for the Korean Diaspora. His teaching fields are Ministry and Theology, and Spirituality and Church History. Sang Taek is the founder and current principal of Iona Columba College (2013) and Iona Trinity College (2021).

His hobby is to paint as an artist and to write poems. He won the first prize from a prize–winning poem in a Christian magazine in Korea.
